I always advise a trial before your wedding as this gives the bride peace of mind, and the preparation at the trial saves invaluable time on the actual day.
The trial will involve a thorough consultation to find a style you like. A practical demonstration will take place to show different styles.
It’s a good idea to have a trial well in advance which would allow for growing your hair for a style, improving the condition of your hair with conditioning treatments and getting any hair accessories you might need.
A picture of your dress is useful as this gives an idea of any particular wedding theme or style when deciding on your hair.
If you already have chosen your tiara, veil or accessories, it is good to have them at your trial as they will help decide your hairstyle. If you haven’t got any yet then don’t worry, it can be just as good to decide on your hair then get accessories etc to compliment your chosen style.
A trial usually lasts between one and two hours. If you wish for the bridesmaids and/or mothers to have a trial at the same time, this will take longer so we need to bare this in mind when booking. If they don’t want a trial but would still like to see you have your hair styled, that’s not a problem.
It’s not always possible to get all the bridesmaids together before the wedding, if this is the case I would like a photo of them with their hair as it normally is, we can then decide on their styles for the big day.
We would need to talk about timings I will then be able to co-ordinate with the make-up artist and photographer. (See my links)
Guidelines when choosing.
All up - Very sturdy and will last all day and night. This look is very glamorous and stylish, suitable for both day and evening ceremonies.
Half up/down - Still sturdy and should last all day and night depending on the hair type. This is a romantic look, very young and youthful. Normally a day style but does transform well to eveningwear.
All down - Not practical for outdoor weddings as this style wont last as long as the other two. This look is romantic and modern but normally considered more for daytime than for evenings.
